UCTD diagnosis but Lupus-like rash?

Hello,

I have been told that I have UCTD, there is no internal organ involvement (as of yet) so the diagnosis of Lupus has not been given to me. However, I now have these large non-itchy, red welts that look like hives but are not hives on random areas of my body. I've been doing some research on my own, and there doesn't seem to be a clear answer. I scheduled a dermatologist appointment next month, but I am going to try to get in earlier. I've had these things for a little over 2 weeks now and it doesn't look as if they are letting up.

Has anyone else had this issue before?

Also, if you were diagnosed with UCTD and these symptoms occur, does this mean it has advanced to the 'Lupus' stage?

Thank you for your quick reply. I saw two rheumatologists and they both came to the same conclusion with the UCTD diagnosis. I am currently on hydroxychloroquine (1 tablet 2x's a day) and it has been helping with the joint stiffness and overall pain and fatigue.

I asked the rheumy if he thought the hive like symptoms were from the medication, but he doesn't seem to think so...

Hopefully my dermo will open up soon so I get it resolved.
