Sad news about Mom 46

Auntkay I am so heartbroken to hear this. I had not heard from Babs in a while, but I'm not good about keeping up with everyone. I'm pretty sure that Babs provided me with the "bridge analogy" in which she explained that she (and I should) look at flares as crossing a bridge. Some bridges are short and easy to cross. Others are so long that the end isn't even in sight, but the end is there and we will reach the end of that bridge giving us a chance to rest and enjoy life for a while.

I hope she did not have a prolonged illness and that she passed peacefully while crossing her last bridge. All my love, Donna

Donna,you are correct Babs did use the bridge analogy. She was a very caring and wise lady, i will truly miss her and Barb.Lynn i had stayed in touch with her mostly thru FB. After Barbs passing i felt compelled to drive to Alabama and visit her. She was in the hospital and had been for a good month. She had been in kidney failure and seemed to be slowly improving.So glad i made the trip but during that visit we talked about Barb and what a wonderful woman she was. Babs also told me of her health struggles and she had really been thru it in the past 2 years first battling cancer then colon issues (found out she had crohn's on top of her lupus.So she spent alot of time in and out of the hospital. I'm glad we were able to have one last visit. Friday Chuck and i are attending another friends memorial service and i know my emotions are raw from the loss of three friends in this past month. I'm afraid i won't be able to keep myself in tact. I really hate for people to see me like this so be thinking of me as i cross this next bridge in life and try to celebrate the lives of these dear friends. Kay

I am so very glad you were prompted to go over and visit Babs, what a wonderful gift you were able to experience by doing that!

I will indeed send you healing energy that you are able to celebrate knowing these wonderful women and focus on moving forward thru the grief rather than becoming consumed by it.

You had no way of knowing, but this post is about a long-time member, Babs, whose username was mom46. She was a mother and a grandmother who passed away last weekend from Lupus complications at the age of 58.
