Lupus?

Hi all

Thanks for taking the time to read this and to any who feel they can respond.

I've been ill for 8 weeks. It started with a UTI and I have been off work for 6 weeks. I saw a neurologist on Sat and he suggested Lupus. However, I'm not convinced. My symptoms are:

- Exhaustion
- Burning pain in arms
- Muscle twitches
- General feeling of weakness
- Shaking
- Achey joints
- Sore muscles

It seems bizarre that this could all develop so suddenly. I'm now waiting for more tests at the hospital.

Can anyone advise?

Lupus is diagnosed by having at least 4 of 11 symptoms, the list can be found by following the "Diagnosing Lupus" link below. The Dr who specializes in Lupus will be a rheumatologist -- other Drs may suggest Lupus but please rely on a rheumy for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Your symptoms, as you've listed, are all rather general and could be attributed to a number of things. Try to be patient and let them finish the diagnosis. It may be something much simpler than Lupus.
