Hi Everyone. I have just finished having 5 medical appointments in 6 days and I'm worn out. My total knee replacement is Aug 28. I'll stay in the hospital overnight. Then I must stay in bed (except to pee) for one week. A physical therapist will come to my house 3 days a week for 3 weeks.
All the visits are to get everyone coordinated. I have two more visits next week. My rheumy texted my orthopedic doc telling him that I can't stop prednisone for 2 weeks because the 7 mg I take are essential since my adrenal glands no longer work. So rheumy compromised and stopped my cellcept. My orthopedist will tell rheumy when he feels I am not in danger of infection. Then rheumy will start my Benlysta infusions again.
Next week my pain management PA will decide the pain meds I need at home and my infectious disease doc will decide if he needs to increase the dosage of my IVIG infusions.
I am flaring because of all these visits plus the intense knee pain. At least I'm still very excited to get my knee replaced! Love, Butterflake

Yikes! That many appointments would wear out even a healthy person!
I'm glad you are getting all your ducks in a row and that the surgery date is set. I've got it on my calendar and will be sending healing energy your direction that day.
And I'm certainly hoping getting the knee under control will just be the start of getting you on the mend!
Gentle hugs,

Hi Lynnwood and Terry. Thank you for the replies. Lynnwood it's so nice of you to mark my surgery on your calendar. Except for the intense pain I'm expecting great things. My knee hurts badly when I walk and I feel it "crunching" every step I take. I haven't worked in my garden for months. The massive, bulky knee brace helps ease the pain, but only with narcotics. So I'm getting even more excited about
the surgery! Love, Butterflake
