Throbbing pain in both forearms

Pls Hlp. I woke up this morning with this horrible excruciating pain in both forearms . The pain was so bad it woke me up . I guess the only way I can describe it is it almost feels like it’s in my bone . I generally have no pain in my arms. There is no swelling or redness And no pain to touch. I did not injure my arms yesterday or even pick up anything heavy . I do frequently wake up stiff in the mornings.

I have no other symptoms just this agonizing pain from my elbow to my wrist And my hands are very stiff. I have 1 fushion in lower back and frequently get either epidural or steroid injections For the back pain.
Other than lupus I have never been diagnosed with anything else . Can someone please tell me if this has happened to them and what this might be? Like I said I would describe this as throbbing!

I took a meloxicam this morning and I am praying it works. This has been going on since I woke up an hour ago. It’s debilitating and so painful. Thank you

Lupus can be a mystifying illness, randomly deciding to attack some part of your body without rhyme or reason. I used to get random toe pain, somewhat similar to what you are describing. It felt like someone had injected hot acid into my toe joints.

Do you take any medications for your Lupus? If you have prednisone on hand the Dr may advise you to take a bit more for a few days until your arms calm down. I suggest calling/seeing your rheumatologist for the best results.

Thank you so much . I need to actually find a new rheumatologist because I just relocated to Texas. Unfortunately I didn’t have anything on hand except for the meloxicam That my old one gave me . Usually if I have a flare, I usually know what caused it and feel it coming but I’ve never had the issue that I have this morning. It literally had me in tears and then I took 1 meloxicam and 1 Tylenol and 2 hours later the pain was gone but now I am left with a slight soreness. I suppose I will never quite get used to this horrible disease.

I'm glad I came back to the lupus site as this sounds like what I'm going through. The pain in my feet is horrible and burns like a bear. The bones feel like they can shatter if touched. All these years I thought it was the arthritis flaring up but it's like what you described. The stuff moves and you never know which joint it will hit and for how long. Both the speckled, ANA and Double Strand DNA test confirm Lupus as my markers are way high in each. I can't take any meds as I'm allergic to most. For pain I'm using Oxycodone and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I've been on these fore years and luckily no change in meds.
