Plaquenil 400mg

Hey everyone, I was given Plaquenil 400mg today, but I wanted to take half in the morning and the other in the afternoon for a few days before taking the full 400mg to avoid a shock to my body, Is it okay to cut it in half to do that,

Poppie, I looked at Drugs.com & they state do not crush or cut the pill. They recommended taking the pill after a meal or a glass of milk.

Have been on/off Plaquenil for about 20 years now. I've never noticed any changes when going off or on the 400 mg / day dosage -- I don't think you need to worry about "shock to the body". It's really rather mild and takes up to 6 weeks to build up to a therapeutic level in the body anyway.

And no, it's not a good idea to try to cut Plaquenil tablets/pills.
