Does anybody take Meloxicam for pain, and did it help you? My rheumy put me on it but I havn't started it yet. My stomach gets upset so easily.

Hi Linda,

   I take Tramadol (Ultracet). I'm very sensitive or allergic to  most pain meds as well, but Tramadol is the only med I have been able to take without getting sick or breaking out in an itchy rash. It does help with my pain some, but can make you drousy. I usually have to take 2 when the pain is bad, but my doc says its okay for me to do that. I hope this works well and you get some relief. Oh I also meant to add that you probably should take it with food or milk to coat your stomach.

Oh ok Linda,

  I was wondering...thats why I put Ultracet on my post. Thats no problem..don't be sorry.... :-)   Hopefully, someone will come along soon that is taking or has taken Meloxicam to help you out.

Hi all, I take tramadol, Ultracet, among other meds. It helps me. It was a life saver when they took Bextra of the market. That was the only thing back then that helped many of my symptoms. I tend to run a fever often, so the acetametaphin in helps that for me too. I have to take it with food though. On the days when I really hurt and was allowed and did take two, it helped the pain but made me dizzy and sleepy. I rarely take ultracet now since I'm on other meds now for pain that are more effective for me. Hope this helps, blessings, Peaceful

Hi,

I was prescribed tramadol for pain relief. The first few times I took it the side effects were so severe I nearly didn't take it again. My whole body shook, I was hallucinating, I was vomiting constantly, couldn't walk because I was so unsteady and the list goes on. I would strongly suggest if anyone is taking tramadol for the first time to take it at night, make sure someone's with you, and make sure you don't have an empty stomach. This isn't meant to scare anyone, but these side effects can be so severe it's better to be prepared as it scared me senseless. Now my body has obviously adjusted to them and the effects aren't nearly so bad they work well for the most part.
