mouth ulcers

I have ulcers on the roof of my mouth,both sides on the bottom right of gum,upper gum-both sides,and top of left on one side. Eating is painful,even soft food like rice,any advice? The rheumys side kick doesn't think it hurts,they are usually painless he says...where do I go from here? uurrg!
is there something I can do for it like salt water or something? thanks for any input. crystal confused

(((((( Crystal )))))) Yeah, I've also heard that the "lupus" mouth sores don't hurt, well let me tell you..... they DO and very BAD I might add!!!! Since you have them all over your mouth I think you should ask your rheumy about "magic mouthwash" or at least that's what it's called in my area. I do know it is 3 liquid ingredients that the pharmacist mixes when you have it filled. It works well, numbs very well! There is also an Rx "paste" you can get and Orjel has some new "disk" pads that look like they would work well, I have some but haven't had to use them yet (knock on wood). My rheumy also put me on 1-5mg of Folic acid, I usually take 3-5 a day, I still get them but not as many at a time and I can tell when I slack off taking them.

When I have a lot in my mouth I usually eat mashed potato's without salt and ice cream. I hope you find relief soon, I know what you are going through ((( hugs ))))

Like stacie said, you don't even need a rheumie my regular dr gave me the stuff stacies was talking about. I can't remember the name. But you use it to numb your mouth before you eat. You swish it around and swollw it. It has a antibiotic in it also. I'm so sorry you are in so much pain sweetie. Maybe some popcycles might help before you eat? I don't really have any suggestions. Just wanted to give you a (((hugs))).

thanks you two,My husband looked in my mouth with a tiny flashlight and said they look pretty gross. The pharmasist said there is something called ''fletcher's sore mouth medicine'',but it hurts really bad for about 10 seconds-pain is what I am trying to avoid! LOL!
so I'm not crazy afterall!yeehaa! I will look into that folic acid thing,I took it years ago,but I think any help is good help,thank you for your help once again ladies! God bless! cystal

Hi,

Like Stacie suggested magic mary's mouthwash is great when you have sores this bad. Your family practice doctor can order this. The pharmacy will make it and it's to be kept in the frig. I hope that you get some relief soon.

  I haven't had any mouth sores in awhile. I also take folic acid. I hope you get some relief soon. I agree they can hurt! Take care.

I use Gly-Oxide and it works really well for me. I get both the ones and hurt and the ones that don't. The ones between my gums and lips usually hurt and the ones on my hard palate hurt after I eat something spicy or salty.

What really works for mouth sores is brushing your teeth with baking soda,and it whitens teeth too
I would like to know what to do for sores on the face .no I am not on any medication because its too much for my liver ,any ideas
