another dx-severe vitamin d deficiency

Hi everyone,

I know I have not been here for a while but so much has been going on that I have had to stay away. I can see where it has taken a toll on me too. I went to the Rheumie for a bunch of tests and feel like they keep finding something new all the time. Now it is that I have severe vitamin D deficiency. On scale of 1-100 mine is 13 I have to start Vitamin D at 50,000 iu and I know this is going to make me feel really sick. The thing is my body is not happy with change and this will be good for me but at first we all know how this makes us feel while our body gets itself out of toxic mode. LOL!! I have to do this ASAP or I may end up in the hospital for IV treatment which at this point I don't care because I am so angry. I cannot go in the sun, and now I want to get my Vitamin A tested along with Potassium and Magnesium checked. And also Vitamin K.

I just get sick of this because my lupus labs come back negative and I still have issues with Sjogren's Syndrome, Porphyria, etc. Anyway sorry to complain. I am not looking for sympathy, just venting.

I too have vitamin D deficiency though I do not have the numbers. My PCP prescribed a vitamin supplement in big doses but I read

and saw that the usual prescribed Vitamin D is not the "best" vitamin D supplement. I take what I call "funky" vitamins (Dr Sinatra) and they have the good kind of Vitamin D in them.
