does anyone have lowering and raising temps.

For two days I haven't been feeling like me. My b/f thought that it was from our grass getting cut. I've never been allergic to cut grass.

I watch children during the day and we went out to play Monday, that evening I starting feeling like something was stuck in my thoart, as the night went on I wasn't feeling much better. I know that the children have been sick, I took my temp, it was 99.6, Tuesday morning I took it again and it was 97.5. At night it raises after we go out but in the day time it's below normal. Is this part of Lupus?  At night I don't want to eat just go to bed.

Ooh Ladybug I have the same question. My temp seems all over the place. The highest it goes is 99.1 or so, but sometimes its 97.6. I feel achy and tired when its raised and I feel cold and achy when its low : )

How long have you had Lupus? Are fevers in your history? I see in your post that you have been feeling this way for two days. Probably should give it a few more days and see if the temp climbs higher, or if you get sick with a virus.

Sorry Im not much help, just sort of feeling in the same boat.

Hi Ladybug:

First welcome to our forum, and you'll meet a lot of wonderful ppl here. I have to say that yes lupus can cause us to have fevers. It's one of the symptoms that goes with this disease.

I've been running temps from low grade to high grade. I also can be down in the 97's, since Aug of '06. After an exstensive work up. It's been deemed that it's from the lupus. I was even examined by an Infectious Disease doctor and he was adament that it's the lupus causing this.

I'd suggest that you keep a temperature log and take your temp the sametime everyday for 30 days and then so it to your doctor. It will better help him to help you.

I too believe it is from the lupus. I generally go along fairly normal, but seem to have higher temperatures from 3-5pm or so. If it's a day that I've done more, it might be elevated somewhat higher or longer. (My normal is 97.6, the temps I see regularly are 99.5 or so.)

I agree that lupus can cause changes in temperature. I notice that when I'm flaring or have overdone it, I get fevers. I never used to get fevers before I got lupus. Within the last few months sometimes when i get sick, my temp drops into the 96's and I have no idea why. Barb had a great suggestion about keeping a journal of your temps and you can also note how you were feeling when you were running fevers. If this is new for you and it keeps up, it would be a good idea to call your doctor about it. I hope you start feeling better soon. Take care

I have not been dx, but alot of what I read on here it sounds alot of what I'm going through.

I have stiffness of the mask on my face. It covers my nose and cheeks but does not go into the craves of my nose. I have even noticed it when I'm in my little bathroom and we have ultra voliet light in there.

I do get a few colds now and then and when I get sick I really get sick. I have low iron and have always had that. I go through depressions alot. My joints ache alot and I find it hard to sleep because I can't get comfortable.

My eyes get dry. A couple of weeks ago my eyes were so bad that it felt like someone had put a film over them. I almost called my parents to come get my children that I watch. I was scared. My teeth have been falling apart.

I have so many things that it's hard to name them all. I do have the fog, where you can put something down and forget where it is at or I'll call my daughter back sometimes and have to ask her a little about our conversation and even ask her if I told her I loved her. I will even with my b/f tell him I love him and I may say it within the next 5 min. 3 times because I don't remember.

Any of this sound fiamilar. I know word was spelled wrong. That's another thing I used to be a great speller now I spell words that are simple because I can't remember to spell the hard words.

Two years ago I could words on pill bottle now I have to ask b/f what it says.

Ever since I got sick I have noticed that my temps are usually low grade(96-97), but when I'm not feeling well, they spike up ther pretty high(over 100). I know something is really wrong when in 24 hours I jump from 97.4 to 102.9 like I did before I came into the hospital on Saturday. I never in my life have experienced these types of temps until the last year or two. Good Luck. I hope the info from everyone helps you out a little bit. -Avery

I have a similar question but with a twist.  I have MCTD and Raynaud's.  The Raynaud's has really started acting up lately and I have been very cold.  The other night I woke up freezing and took my temperature.  It was 95.4.  I couldn't believe it so I took it again and it was the same.  My question is "Can the Raynaud's cause me to have a low temp?"  Also, does anyway know how to get relief without wearing gloves? I live in Arizona, so in reality it is a little WARM here.  Don't know why my body thinks it is cold.

Mary Ann, I had never thought about Raynauds causing a low body temp, but it does make sense. I might see if I can find any info about that online.
