Hi--
Has anyone ever heard of this therapy for lupus? I've been investigating it since my disease was made much worse from interferon alpha, so maybe I naturally had too much of the stuff. Taking ANTI-interferon is being researched as a treatment for interferon induced autoimmune disease as well as other autoimmune diseases. Most of the bad side effects I already have, but one side effect is the development of anti-ds-dna, which I thought was key in having lupus. So how this would fix lupus, I don't know, but I have all the symptoms without the anti-ds-dna, so I don't know if that would make me sicker or not, possibly interferon supressed the development of anti-ds-dna while still kicking my immune system into hyperdrive. If anyone knows about this, I'd be interested, or knows anyone taking any such thing. I'm looking at web articles now and plan to talk to my rheumie about it. It's kind of scary frankenstein stuff in a way, taking one drug that trashes my immune system in one way, then taking another really strong drug to trash my trashed immune system and hopefully undo the damage. At least now they are admitting the problem. I think its disgusting they knew about permanent AI damage from interferon in the 80s and in the 90s they were still telling patients that all the damage would go away when the medicine was discontinued. Almost makes you like lawyers.
