How do you work full time and be so tired? Manage all the doctors appointments and surgeries? I work full time and it's becoming so hard. I keep thinking how long can I last working full time? I drag myself to work, plant a smile on my face and have the standard answer of "I'm doing fine." Ok if and when there comes a time I can't work then when do you know it's time to apply for SSI? When I need to use a walker to get around at work? LOL. I'm so tired and hope this makes sense.

I would talk with your doctor usually they know when it is time. Mine said I couldn't work period no ifs no ands no buts. So I went on a 2+ year oydossy (sp) of the Social Security system. I finally won at my hearing today but the good lord only knows when I will get the money. You may need to switch jobs or take fewer hours. You may need to stop working it all depends on what your doctor says. Also if you are too tired to do anything but go to work then come home and sleep and do nothing but rest on your days off that is a sign it is time for a different job, fewer hours, or to stop working. So talk with your doctor explain how it is and see where to go from there.

Thankyou redrose. Congratulations on getting your SSI. I'm not ready yet but it's a struggle to work. Part time is sounding good for now. So it's when your doctor says that you can't work. That makes sense. Well he'll have to wait awhile. :-)

I knew before my docs knew. You know your body best. You know how hard it is to make it through a day. If you feel that it is getting too difficult for you, talk to your doctors about it. You will need them on board if you plan on applying for social security disability. You can file for disability on your own. You will most likely be denied. After that, it is probably a good idea to get an attorney. It might be a long process depending on where you live.
