I saw my pulmonologist last Friday (he prescribes my Cellcept to keep my pulmonary vasculitis under control). I told him I have been experiencing fatigue since I started Cellcept last year and that the plaquenil, which my rheumy started me on in February, had not helped with that. (The Plaq is helping with skin and joint problems, though.)
The pulmo. said Cellcept can cause fatigue; I had not heard of that side effect before. I had just considered it part of my increasing lupus symptoms. The pulmo. recommends that I go to Whole Foods and find some natural supplements to boost energy (but no stimulants). I am to make a list of those that interest me, and email that list to him so he can make sure that they would be okay to take with my prescription meds.
I am clueless about natural supplements. I take a multi-vitamin, calcium and vitamin D, and capsules of vitamin E, flax seed and fish oil every day.
I know all of us suffer from fatigue to some degree or another. Do you take any supplements that are specifically designed to help your energy levels, and have they worked?
Thanks again to everyone for the existence of this board. I am making smarter decisions about my care due to the wonderful information shared here.
