So glad you're home. As Dorothy said "there's no place like home". I totally agree with that! I hope that meeting with your usual docs will help get these matters straightened out for you. Is your pain at least more under control?

Isn't it unreal when you first see you daughter all dressed up to go to a dance? It's like OMG, when did you grow up? It's like it happened when we weren't looking. Say, is there any way your hubby can drive you guys for the shopping trip for the shoes and purse? And even get a wheelchair for you (most malls have them) to push you around. You can hop out of it to go in the stores with Nikita--even a couple of stores before the shoe store if that's an "issue" for her. Girls her age are very much about "issues"; don't take it personally. It has nothing to do with your situation or how she feels about you. They are just about their own "issues"!

Well I've managed to complete getting Nikita's items for the homecoming dance on Saturday. I used my wheelchair today and we only shopped in one store. I wasn't up to going into a bunch of stores. She says she needs jewelry and I'm like you'll make do with what you've got.

I saw my doctor today, my regular internist. Basically, there's not a lot they can do for me. My INR is now down to 1.0, which means I now have no blood thinners in my blood stream. I expressed my desire to stop taking the coumadin. The doctor advised against it, we managed to compromise I'll have a CT scan and we'll see whats happening with the blood clot. If it's gone, we'll consider stopping the coumadin. I'm seeing another vascular surgeon next Tuesday for a second opinion. This surgeon works with the surgeon who did my colon surgery, and I trusted that surgeon with my life, he did a wonderful job.

I brought up the subject of what happened with my pain meds. My doctor informed me that the Dr. that was caring for me in the hospital didn't express exactly what my Dr. said. My Dr. is all for treating my pain and she would have agreed to giving me IV pain meds. She apologized for the troubles I had with this other Dr. and assured me that she's going to have a word with them.

Overall, I feel crummy and I'm in pain. I've got severe pain in my hips, ankles, wrists, and feet. Plus the muscle pains from my fibro. My CBC was low and my ESR was elevated. My Dr. started me on Oxycontin as a long acting pain meds, and demerol for break through pain. Here's hoping that it works for me. Otherwise, other than the pain meds, there isn't much to do for me. Until the issue with the blood clot is resolved I can't have any additional immuno suppressant drugs like Humira. Anyway, that's the scoop here. Hope you all are doing alright and having much better success dealing with your illness. I love you all and I'll talk with you again soon.

Glad you got your pain meds Barb and that you are getting the stuff out of your system. Will pray clot is gone. Good on the surgeon too. Never hurts to get his view. I hurt so bad, I have to get a cortisol test and when it is done, I have to decide if I want to get back on pred or wait till I have my first appt with new endo next week. I just don't think I can wait that long, I hurt so bad. We've had a lot of rain and my rhumatiz is a-killin' me. If only I had some of granny's rheumatism medicine (moonshine!) and could drink it. I used to love Beverly Hillbillies.
