Hey Emerson,
Well, at least the test results are coming in now. I'm not sure if I have a positive rheumatoid factor. I have everything else positive, so it probably is, LOL!
YES, your liver can change that fast. I had liver problems in June, July and August. From a drug allergy. My liver numbers were off the charts in June, but within 2 months of recovery, and staying on the same meds, my liver made a perfect recovery! It's even healthier than before the allergy happened. Crazy eh! So yes, the liver is extremely capable of healing quickly and deteriorating quickly. So much of what we ingest, process, toxify, etc, is done through the liver.
Not sure why your numbers are fine, yet he can feel that it's swollen/enlarged. I would get another scan done.
It never hurts to get a second opinion, especially if there are no clear cut definite diagnosis' being made. My guess is that he'll send you to a liver specialist.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with work. Can you get a letter from your rheumy to cool the heels of your boss? Maybe take a little time off? I can understand your frustration. We're here for you...
