Came home yesterday and opened all my post. My heparin injection appointment is not until the 17th of January 08! over two months time and prof hughes was dissappointed about the appointment being in two weeks well I got THAT wrong.
I rang GP, in hysterics and she said we did not have enough of haemotologists and I asked her "What DO we have" she said "very little of everything" I told her I wouod go private and she said its the same in that sector.
Ireland may be green and awash with m oney and rain but little in the health sphere unless you have 'the right connections, like my millionaire sister who knew a surgeon who actually drove sis's daughter into hospital and operated on her knee and another who did the same for her son. I am only in social housing with no influence.
Spent all morning writing up my proposal to get to the Louise Coote Unit at St. Thomas's in London to deal with the sjogren's and the sticky blood.
My gp has told me to tell twin not to come home, she had parkinsons and I might have too, but we want to be together as we fail in health.
I am now in bed with my two dogs which I got back.
I have a blinder of a headache.
my neuro, will get another belching on tuesday, I feel it coming on.......a rant down the phone that is.

I too am sorry you're having to go through this nightmare and I wish you and your sister could be together. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Ann, well to say the least it sucks! Sadly I know how ya feel. All though I don't suffer from the same things you have I do suffer from the lack of physicians to help out. It took me 4 months to get an appt to see a rheumy. Than after I saw him I waited two weeks for him to send the paper work to my pcp and than the nurse called and said My pcp wants to see me because she doesn't beleive what the rheumy said was wrong with me!!!!!!! I'm like you I don't know any doctors by their first name or have money to grease a palm with . It's so utterly frustrating somtimes. I didn't understand the one thing you mentioned though. I couldn't figure out why the doctor doesn't want you sister to come be with you?

Take a deep breath and try not to break anything. Hopfully you can get a little somthing to get you through until Jan.

Ann, so sorry you have to wait. Is it possible to go to a more populated area where you might be able to get treatment faster? Perhaps your doctor has some influence to get you your injection sooner or at another place, or mayb put you on pills or something like Rosie said. Wll I'm so sorry this is happing to you and I hope that at least you can be with your sister soon and perhaps you can take care of each other and be each other's advocate. Aspririn, like rosie said, might be something to ask about too. I hope you feel better and get the care you need soon.

Ann . . . How sweet of sis to make you your own fish pie. I hope you'll tell us how its made . . . never heard of fish in a pie before, but love the recipe. My family makes a meat pie which is popular in Canada (we live in the States, but Mom and Dad are from Ontario). Your church story brought a tear . . . I can only imagine how you felt. I have found ways of hiding my stiffness upon rising from a chair in church or a restaurant, but there is no way to escape the glory of the wheelchair . . . sorry Ann . . . that has to be rough. I look at wheelchairs and I just groan inside . . as they look SO uncomfortable to me. The sun glasses were so Jackie-O . . . you went in style girl!! Blessings!
