Hi All,

Well I finally saw my Rheumy and have no more answers than I did before. He ran a series of blood work but seemed uninterested in my symptoms.  The same old question... Are you under stress?  I was not until I got sick, out of work, and no one seems able to help.  I have been seen by ENT, Nuero, going to Cardiologist( found slight arteria sclerosis). I know I sound a little angry, and believe me I do not want to be sick, but my body is telling me that it is. I have written about my frustration earlier and received great support, but thought my trip to the Rheumy would shed some light (He had results of  numerous blood work I have already had).  I am just so greatful I have a place to vent with others who understand my frustration.  Thanks mad

dazed, boy can I ever relate - I was undiagnosed for almost 3 years. Like you, I sure didn't want to be sick, but I knew I was sick and I had some abnormal lab work too. The rheumy I saw for most of that time seemed alright at first, but then she became less and less interested in helping me. The breaking point for me was when she talked about starting me on plaquenil which she had already put me on and I had been on it for about 2 years. That's when I switched rheumies and got a diagnosis. Some of us have to go through several rheumies to find the right one. It is always so disappointing when you get your hopes up before a doctor's appointment only to leave feeling deflated and let down. Just don't give up - it can be a very trying and frustrating journey. So many of us have gone through the same thing you are going through, so you are among people who do understand. Hang in there and take care.

Thanks so much. Each day I am getting a little stronger but still do not feel good. My biggest fear is going back to work and relapsing before they even have a diagnosis. I know I should take it one day at a time but the fear of the unknown is really getting to me. I am a young widow and need my full salary, plus my FMLA is up in one month. I also do not know how long my GP can keep me out on disability with no concrete diagnosis. I must remember to stay positive and do all I can to get to the bottom of this. Joing this site was my first step in empowering myself.

Rebecca . . . I just love your signature! It is true too. I'm sorry about you being a widow . . . that is really tough. I am 55 now and have a wonderful husband and four kids . . . but when I was 24, I had two children and lost their dad to a car vs. pedestrian accident. I sure never expected to have life treat me so well after all of that. How long ago did you lose your husband?? Prayers for you sister!! Sorry your doc is not getting things figured out for you. Hi Veronica-
I was in your situation getting written out and I think I ended getting written out on severe fatigue and depression. I was also preliminarily diagnosed with fibromyalgia. You might talk to your doctor about this problem and hopefully he will not brush you off but will give you and tentative diagnosis of something based on your symptoms and write you out based on that in the meantime, even if he feels he can't do the ai stuff yet. It's amazing how depression goes away when your medical conditions get treated!
