Itching??!!!

Ok, one last thing...I know lupus can cause rashes so what do we do about them? I have a major rash on the back of my legs..it itches so bad I have caused my self to bleed and bruise. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. I have not used anything for fear of aggrevating it and it is spreading... I have not been outdoors or used any new products so I don't know what caused it.

Hi Tasha, somone suggested to me to try aveeno soap like bar. It has oatmeal in it and is really isn't soap. It's about 3 dollars a bar but it go rid of my rash in two days. I figured for 3 bucks it was worth a shot to just buy it at wal mart. I have a lot of itching right now but no rash so I may use it today and see if it helps with that too.
If for no other reason it might help keep you from getting an infection from where you broke the skin. I'm sorry you are going thru this. I know itching is enough to make ya crazy.

Aveno soap and lotion helped me a lot when I had hives a few weeks ago and the itching was horrible.  If it gets really bad you might want to let your doctor know, he might decide to give you a steriod shot or put you on a pred pack.  Rashes and hives are a part of Lupus and I don't think we'll be able to block them but with the steriods be able to deal with them.  Good luck!
