You know one of the things that bugs me the most is researching this disease and finding evidence that this bacteria has been found in the guts of a lot of different biting insects...not just tics. But we are constantly seeing things about tic id cards and such. Why is this when there are so many other vectors?
Is it comprehendable that this bacteria is probably not so selective that it only chooses to enter the human body through a tic and not the other critters that it inhabitates? It is a scary thought...but seems more likely since most people don't even remember a tick bite or being outdoors where ticks may be lurking. 
Anybody with any thoughts on this? (My lyme brain keeps pondering this and won't let me stop!!!)

I personally 'suspect' that it was a mosquito in SE Asia that infected me; however I also believe that the immune system normally kills these bacterium EXCEPT in the cases where HHV 6 has been 'RE-activated'! Read the book, 'The virus within'

I believe I was infected by a mosquito or flea, I only recall bring bitten by Mosquitos...have taken several scorpion stings and a bee sting in the past few years. The only reason I suspect flea is because we picked up a small stray kitten infested with fleas last November and I bathed her with Dawn dish sops to kill the fleas. I'll never know for sure but why wouldn't it make sense that mosquitoes carry....I'd like someone with a more educated mind in how the bacteria live etc to explain to me why it can't be carried by any other biting bug besides a tick.
