DOWA,
In a previous thread to King you mentioned that your doctor thinks that a positive band 41 is significant. Would you be able to elaborate on that comment since my 5 yr old tested positive for band 41 only? The only thing I have been able to find is that it is a non-specific band for Lyme. My daughter is currently being treated for Lyme and her doctor also suspects Bartonella. She will be starting on antibiotics to target Bartonella within the next day or so.

41 flagellin protein of all spirochetes; this is usually the first to appear after a Bb infection and is specific for all Borrellia
That is all I know from a previous post...

Thanks Baileygirl,
I am a bit confused. I don't understand how it can be specific for Borrellia if it is a protein band of ALL flagellan proteins. I would think that other flagellan proteins besides Borrellia could cause a positive result. I think that I am getting hung up on the word specific. Specific to me means reacting to only one thing. I need to go grab my dictionary!!

Goldfinch: I faxed my Igenex test to Dr C in Missouri and he confirned that it was positive because of band 41 . I have been dx with Erlichia not bartonella if that helps. I am also as confused as you, so you are not alone..(:

Thanks Dowa! Was your Erlichia diagnosis clinical (based upon your symptoms) or did you test positive?

Thanks Dowa! I have seen posts where other people have said that they have used Fry Labs. I don't think it is a problem.
