hello, ive posted on the board a bunch of times.. i'm 24.. was previously really healthy.. ran 3-10 miles a day.. started having strong lyme symptoms july 31st and started treatment, (incorrect tx dose, but tx) on August 25th.. my cd 57 tests results indicated i had a 40.. and my dr said i've had lyme for minimum 6 months... i also have babesia.. im now on the correct doxy dose and on arteminisin and plaquenil... the reason im writing this is because i'm beyond frightened... why do people die? am i going to die from this? i have this awful brain fog at times, im really hot, don't have much energy, have heart palpitations at times.. and i felt better for a brief period of time, but now things seem to be going down hill again... is this fatal? why???

I have good news, you're going to live :-)

You have a better change of winning the lottery than dying from lyme.
The symptoms and the side effects from the abx are very frightening. I think what you're feeling now is major anxiety due to all the stress from this.

Are you on a good detox program with the abx? Do you have a good support system? If the dr that's treating you an LLMD?

Thanks for that.. I think I was very anxious because of the post on both this forum and the other forum about someone passing away from lyme.. although, i knew nothing about her case, it scared me... I am taking nanotek chitosin for detox and I am seeing an LLMD, going to a more reputable one at the end of the month

Hezzers, no one even knows yet how that person died.

If she did die from lyme, then she either had a very compromised immune system or something more sinister.
I heard of cases of people dying from simple herpes simplex 1. Why, because their immune systems failed

You cannot live in fear of every little thing.

Try to incorp. some relaxation into your detox program. Abx play on the mind so keep up with a very goof detox.

hezzer..keep faith that you're going to be ok. i developed an intense case of disseminated lyme that came on pretty quickly about 14 months ago and it took nearly 3 months to get on abx prescribed by a naturopath. i had anxiety and panic attacks, severe fatigue, severe muscle aches, neck pain, sweats, cognitive problems, numbness, lightheadedness, sensitivity to noise, weakness and heart palpitations. i did 6 weeks of doxy and then relapsed after a month. after the relapse, i was tested for coinfections and i was dx with babesia. i started working with a good llmd 7 months ago to treat the babesia and lyme and just completed 7 months of aggressive oral abx and antimalarial tx for babesia. i think i'm ok!!!
today i had an appointment with my llmd and we decided that i will stop abx and just do a limited cowden protocol which is samento, cumanda and parsley. this is because i've been feeling progressively better over the last 2 months and i finally can say i feel as good as before i got lyme. we'll watch it and if i relapse, i'll go back on abx, but i'm so much better! it seems like you're getting care from a good llmd and that's key- at least it was for me. i thought i was going to have a chronic condition. i'm feeling positive that there is life beyond lyme. at 24, you have a whole life ahead.....
