antibiotics and insurance

my dad has anthem senior care and medicare,he just finished his 28th day of IV antibiotics-they refuse to pay for any more drugs at all(IV or oral) does anybody else have insurance that pays? He cant pay for them on his own. 28 days and lyme is cured???(thanks CDC) then tell me why he can no longer walk,feed himself or toilet himself?

Is that anthem blue cross/blue shield?? I am about to start IV and that is what I have. NOT good news. The part I dont understand is why they question the treatment when it is prescibed by our doctors and deemed necessary for recovery. I am sorry. There are people here using insurance for many months, I hope they can help you. (us) D

D, yes that is the same insurance. My mom was on the phone with them for 30 minutes crying and they stated iv antibiotics are investigational and can't be used beyond 4 weeks. good luck to you.

Just to let you know that you can appeal.
The dr can write the first appeal. People have gotten lawyers too. They have contacted their state reps too.

MY insurance is BC/BS and refused too. we are on appeal
