does anyone have really intense and severe facial flushing? do you have any triggers?

I get flushed a lot too. But it seems to be more so when I was running a fever. Are you running a fever. It could also be stress,
a panic attack coming on. Seems lyme turns us all into such delicate people.

When I'm having episodes I get that a lot and months ago when I was at my worst it happened almost daily. Around 1:00 like clockwork. It has gotten better but I notice spicy foods do that to me now.

my flushing only comes on when i go from being cold (low body temp like 96.5) and then become warm (body temp shoots up to like 99-100). i'll flush really intensely, burn like crazy, and it can last like ten hours.

gracietiger - Be sure to mention the is facial flushing to your LLDr. If my memory serves me right (haha) it seems as though I've read something about this flushing being a sign of a compromised immune system - which would seem to fit Lyme disease and/or maybe other conditions that effect the immune system.

I have facial flushing and if I go into a place with a lot of fragrance or chemicals, all of my body gets red. I am immune compromised but was also told it can be caused by histamine being released by your liver.    D

I had the same as Riley..at its worst, every day, same time. It IS due to a compromised immune system, first and foremost, and the theory is (from me and my docs) that when you are compromised, things like your daily hormonal "shifts" can set you off in a yes, an attack of histamine.
I think my immune system is now regulated enough to have stopped the daily, and now I get monthly, during my "episodes" (most likely toxic die-off) and also if there is severe external stimuli (like cold or heat or smell or rubbing my ear cause it is itchy etc.) Any of these can be a trigger, but they are less likely a trigger now as my immune system is stronger. If that makes sense.
