I am going to do the Igenex testing and I had a question....

Should I get the Basic Lyme Panel or the Complete Lyme Panel??  Big price diff between the two but I only want to pay for all this once. Anyway. I am going to get the Eastern & Mid-West Regional Panel as well. Is this a wise choice since I am in MD?

Gosh, what kind of insurance do you have, mine has never paid a penny of Igenex.  D

The lab work is considered out of network so 70% is covered.  I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. We have a PPN.  I should have looked into it sooner.  I have been off Abx for about 3 weeks now so it is the perfect time. Just need to decide on the tests!

Just a heads up about what BCBS will cover. I also have BCBS and they cover 60% out of network labs for me but here is the kicker. They cover 60% of what they feel is a reasonable rate for those tests. These are usually the rates that for example they would pay Lab Corp to run a western blot. Since Igenex costs 200.00 for a western blot but they have a negotiated rate of $70.00 with Lab Corp to run the same test, they only cover 60% of 70.00 for the Igenex test. I know every policy is written differently so your maybe better. You may want to make sure though.
