My LLMD only uses IV abx as a last resort. He seldom uses them anymore. He switches abx around, and there were many I couldn't tolerate, so we just tried another. He does this so we don't build a resistance to abx.
Having tried Cowden's herbs and Buhner's herbs, the herxes were just as bad or worse than the abx. I didn't get much relief on them even after several months.
Any relief I've gained has been gradual, but it has been from abx.
Some herbs can be dangerous, too. Just because they are a herb, doesn't mean they are safe.
LLMD's do advocate detoxing. I think Jernigan is right about the Levaquin, because that was my experience. However, his pale spike lobelia herb has high toxicity. (search the internet)
However, I have read posters that claimed to be healed by herbs alone. They are the lucky ones. I think most of us are in crisis situations & need probably abx plus herbs.
Of course, I'm not a doctor, and this is just my opinion.
