Has anyone tried homeopathy for Lyme and had any success?

I went to see a homeopath for my lyme. She gave me something called Pyrogenium. It made me sort of herx. Not sure. The one thing it did do for me was help me quit smoking. For some reason, it worked more for that than my lyme. But I didn't go to her long enough to try other treatments.

Here's the thing, you need to find a good homeopath that really knows what they're doing. I went to see the top homeopath in Montreal. It takes 1 yr to get an appoint with her but I got in well b/c she is my best friends sister. And I can tell you, she was clueless and prob the worst healer I ever met

I would try a naturopath before seeing a homeopath

I agree with peacesoul. I would go with a naturopath.

I believe in the complementary medicine approach. Use natural medicine whenever possble and conventional medicine when necessary.

I have studied homeopathy for more than 20 years, but only have used homeopathy to treat acute illness/injury (such as the common cold or a mild sprained ankle). I now use homeopathy to help with Lyme/Bart symptoms, and before my gut shut itself down, was taking a homeopathic mix to help restore my immune system. I did have herx-like symptoms if I used the full dose of the immune system remedy, and labs showed improvement in my WBC counts, so I can only assume the remedy was working. I plan to start taking this remedy again now that we know my gut seems intent upon not functioning correctly, so there's no reason not to continue with improving my immune system.

There's a book called The Homeopathic Treatment of Lyme Disease by Peter Alex that has a number of case reports. The key is finding a homeopath who has enough experience to handle the complexity of Lyme treatment.

For us, the protocol include herbal antibiotics, botannicals and pure European homeopathics and roots and chutes of the herbs under the care of a licensed naturopathic team that specialize in Lyme.  Chinese herbs as well.

These address Lyme, co-infections, anti-bacterial/viral/fungal/parasitical/yeast/parastical/microbial. 

Other parts of the protocol stimulate the immune response, address natural killer cell production, nourishment in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, ph balance, hormonal imbalances, etc...

Each patient is treated as an individual and the protocol customized as needed.

It is a slower, steady approach to fighting the bacterias while treating the disease at a constitutional level.

Razzle:  It's impressive to me that you have studied for 20 years!  I'd love to have a conversation to compare notes sometime if you would be interested as well.  I am the novice and still grasping; but learning a great respect for what I see in results for Heth.  Feel free to PM if that sounds good to you.  Probably the last week of the month will settle some pokes that are in the hot fire and free me up for a chat.
