GW Bush diagnosed with Lyme. . .

This information was in the book Beating Lyme by Constance Bean.  It was announced in August 2007 that Bush had been infected the previous year, had the rash and was given ABX.  You know the CDC guidlines does not allow long term abx care so it was proabably a short course.  After this Bush was treated for various complaints including vertigo, ataxia, ringing in the ears etc. and like most of us, given other diagnosis for the complaints.

A few days ago during his last press conference, Bush told a reporter that she would have to remind him of her 3 questions explaining how a person's memory declines with age.  I have the same declining memory and the exact same symptoms as Bush.  I was even given the same misdiagnosis by various doctors.  Thank Goodness I was not running the country for the last two years!  I hope that if he is still sick, he gets help.

Wow, that is really interresting.  He got different treatment than the rest of the poor people suffering in this country!   So he knows that he is sick with lyme, his mind is probably affected (just like mine) and he did not step down from office.  Meanwhile we have slid into the worst economic disaster since the great depression.  If he is like me, he could recover from the dizziness and other physical problems but his brain would remain foggy - as though entering a state of dementia.  All I have to do is imagine myself running the country, and that is pretty scary.  But he will be out next week.

He should have been given more than 200 mg of Doxy a day.  Burrascano recommends 300-600 mg.

One correction - To quote Constance Bean's book, she writes, " In August, 2007, the White House announced that President George W. Bush had Lyme the prededing year. He experienced a red rash with a light center below his left knee. He was treated, although the amount of medication given was not disclosed. . " That came from the New York Times. You thought he was infected and treated in 2007.
I agree with you that he is still sick and does not know it as his doctors are probably following CDC guidelines. I am confused that his doctors consulted with ILAD but evidently did not give him the recommended treatment as he is still sick. If he had been given 2 months of doxy while he had the rash, he probably would have been all right. Why would his doctors consult experts they had no intention of listening too? Was Bush informed of the descrepancy in lyme treatment so that he could make an informed decision about what he wanted to do? He is the President. You would think that he would be informed! Is he one of those people that doesn't ask questions of the "experts"?
I remember it being mentioned in the news that Bush visited soldiers in Walter Reed Hospital and while he was there had a MRI for his shoulder but nothing was found to be wrong.

Thanks Nefferdun.  That's what I get for writing at 2am.  And it is confusing, isn't it?  ILAD consulted and perhaps in agreement w/early localized Lyme.  Perhaps they listened to the dosage recommendation or perhaps not.  The IDSA is known as the author of the treatment guidelines.  Much power and influence.

According to what was published about his lyme, which isn't much, he got bitten while riding his bicycle at Camp David. Maybe that was just speculation so as not to have to admit that lyme exists in other places.
I have his same symptoms which is why I can tell just how sick the poor man really is. I get the dizziness and forgetfulness - atribute it to age, and also can't find my car or even remember if I am driving a car. I get black outs losing minutes of time - what was I doing, what just happened. . . I have had parts of my body so painful and sore that I thought I might have bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis. . .

I will join all of you to write him and warn him that he needs more treatment. It probably won't get through but we can try. Maybe if there was a huge outpouring of mail, someone would notice.

And stop picking on him.  You may end up being the mediator that God uses to bring truth to him, if he is truly still battling this horrific pathogen.  Play nice. (spoken genteely)
