I noticed your post saying that bicillan and diflucan finally did it for you. I have been on IV's for many months and the doctor is now in the process of trying to get approval for the bicillan injections. Meanwhile, I am on Biaxin plus Plaquenil plus anti yeast med - Sporanox.

My script reads for one injection per week. Can you tell me how often you had injections and for how long. Who gave them to you - a friend or the doctor's office? I don't know anyone who has had them.

ok so here it goes...

Bicillin is really amazing but it has to be dosed just right. My LLMD basically said it's a last ditch effort of sorts and it's tolerated better than Rocephin. At 1 injection a week..you're really on a maintanence schedule of sorts. It does enough to kinda throw the bacteria into a remission with a shot of unfortunately building up your tolerance and the spirochette's tolerance to it. So what he did was basically burn the crap out of it. I was on 3 intra muscular shots a week. WOW...i know it sounds crazy but you get used to the injections after a while. On monday I would do 1 injection on each "cheek" lol and then on wednesday was the last one. A quick hint...If you take it out of the fridge and let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes to cool down just a bit then vigorously roll it back and forth in your palms for about 40 seconds..it doesn't burn. As long as you do a slow push in. Don't go to fast as it will lump up your backside and you won't be able to sit down for the rest of the day LOL! At this same time I was on different versions of Flucanozole. Reason being one generic version after 2 weeks would begin to numb my tongue and lips....a bad sign! So you basically have to find one that your body will tolerate..it's basically trial and error. Please be very aware of your body at this time. Although you'll get a herx the likes you've never had in any treatment of your life...about 1 month in you'll start to clear out. This combo works...it's the only one that did for me. Again though since it's not an exact science for everyone YMMV. This is just about the only thing that help my neurological version of lyme and i had it bad. I was basically paralyzed...lost feeling in my hands...chest...face(ala Bell's Palsy) I still get the occasional falling asleep of my pinky fingers but it's a small price to pay. NOTE...PLEASE PLEASE ask the doc to get you on LIV 52 when you're on the flukes. It'll save your liver. The protocol for this combo is basically one cycle(month) of both together....then one off the flucanozole with just the bicillin regimen. You might have to go through several cycles as I did....but it's working. I was on the 3 a week schedule for close to 8 months. I was weaned off beginning of this past June...now I just have an occasional maintenance shot. I havent had one in 2 months. But if i feel my symptoms creep back a bit...i hit it. Though i will admit...the symptoms are not lyme related they are Yeast related. They cause the same neurological symptoms when it becomes systemic. I found this out a few months ago when i lost my mind and ate a whole loaf of Entemanns Sour Cream loaf cake!!! HAHAHA the next day i thought i was dying again....couldn't even spell my last name. I felt as though I had drank a fifth of Bombay Sapphire gin!! On a hunch instead of reaching for a maintenance shot...I hit the diflucan and viola....over and out the symptoms went in a few hours. Now here's the bad thing. Flucanozole is not a great thing if you can't be STRICT and i mean STRICT with your diet. The yeast will just evolve and become resistant to it. It's kind of happenned to me. So again on a hunch I tried Jernigans yeast ease....and i can't tell you guys how better i feel. I'm off the bicillin...crossed fingers and i'm just on this regimen now:

absolutely NO SUGARS OF ANY KIND...no substitute no nada. your favorite drink should be water with a squeezed lemon. Trust...I was a devoted soda freak...now i actually prefer a squeezed lemon in my water to it. You realize how nasty the stuff is after a while! LOL.

No yeast......AT ALL. you sort of have to be on a yeast diet throughout this. This where alot of people go wrong. While your fixing one problem...unfortunately you're creating another one..and there's no way around it...at all. That's the trade off with abx's. If you want bread...here's the perfect place for it.

2 Dr. Ohno pro biotic supplements gel caps
1 vitamin b6/12 (on occasion i'll go in and get a few b12 shots just as a precaution)
3 daily doses of jernigans yeast ease
3 daily doses of jernigans neuro/cns (i slack on this one as my neuro symptoms have kind of abated)


mind you...again...it's taken me 4 years to get to this point! I was recently tested again by igenex and I FINALLY got a CDC positive on both tests! So while my symptoms have abated..obviously i've still got lyme. I've come to the conclusion that this will be called living with lyme. The LLMD has said this as well...matter of factly. He's basically said that we're just trying to get my immune system up to the point where it'll keep it in check. This Bicillin/flucanozole is a great combo. Bicillin by itself isn't alone enough. The fluke also helps bust up the cysts so it's a double whammy to the lil buggers on top of taking care of your yeast.

How did you know you needed Dr. Jernigan's yeast ease?   Also, did you see real benefit from his nuero/CNS formula?? 

btw...the neuro cns formula...you know..I'm up in the air about this one. I havent really seen any big time benefits while i'm on it. Since my neuro symptoms are really more a yeast issue nowadays...I can't tell. I take it now just for the hell of it. If the tingling in my pinky fingers begin to reside I still won't know cuz from what i understand it takes at least 10 months to see any noticeable nerve repair/reconnection once lyme has damaged it. It took more than a year for my 2 big toes to regain any sort of feeling. They're pretty normal now but still have a bit of residual of numbness on the side.

Sfere, What dose of diflucan did you take? How did you take it? I'm thinking about trying the bicillin shots, i've been on IV rocephin for 6 mos. I feel that i've not improved much in the last couple of months. I think I need a change. This picc line hurts all the time now, will see my doc. on mon. Thanks
