A few people here have mentioned that they also have MCS and I was curious how much of a connection there is with LD and MCS. How many of you also have MCS and did you all have it before the Lyme or do you think Lyme contributed to it??  Thanks     D

I just googled MCS and read about it on wikipedia; I think I developed that somehow; I react so sensitive to so many things and especially smells (perfume, hairspray, ect) do drive me really mad; I think that Lyme could have contributed to that or may have triggered it.
Then our chemical environment gets more and more aggressive, new technologies like nanotechnology allow new "mixtures" and nobody knows what all this does to us. I avoid every chemical substance I can whereever I can; another thing is that my olfactory nerves got so sensitive, I can smell things that I was not able to smell some time ago; my husband says I will end with the nose of a hunting dog. dorit

years before the Lyme really hit I begain to get intense migraines from mild-moderate smells. Things like cologne, the smell of diesel trucks, just about any mild-moderate smell would instantly set me off. I am still this way and have to carry around a bottle of excedrine migraine.

We think lyme contributed to our tendency towards MCS.

It looks to me that lyme could well contribute to or bring on MCS. Lyme attacks the immune system and loads up the detox system. And we're exposed to toxic chemical almost at every turn which alone can saturate the detox system.

It makes sense that lyme could bring on MCS.

I developed MCS after an exposure to new carpeting/glue at work a little over a year go. As an avid hiker, I'm beginning to wonder if undiagnosed Lyme is at the root of the sudden, unexplained MCS and intend to be properly evaluated by an LLMD. Would appreciate hearing from anyone else on the connection between the two. Am heading toward an MCS dr. and part of their screening process specifically asked about Lyme-related conditions so there MUST be some sort of connection.
