Does anyone have any input on how quickly a bullseye, or any Lyme disease rash could fade if a person was on antibiotics? My son has a bullseye, which is disappearing quickly with eczema cream and he's on antibiotics. The doctor thinks it may be eczema, but we aren't taking any chances, so we are doing both. And the rash is almost gone after 3 or 4 days on both.

Oh, a photo would have been a good idea! The rash is very light now. Ben's on Doxycycline...2 a day. I'm not sure of the strength. But this confirms my thinking...that nothing is set in stone and it's different for everyone. We'll keep him on the Doxy. The good news is he doesn't have any of the beginning symptoms (other than the rash)...no flu like symptoms or tiredness.

My rash grew for 2 months before I took steps to get rid of it. It will come back if I don't treat for it.

Hi rvnut....that is interesting (and not fun, huh?). Where I was bitten (which I realized years after the fact), I will break out again if I'm under a lot of stress.

Yeah. I have no desire to have that rash back again. It itched so bad it was almost painful. I was really encouraged when the docs couldn't identify it.

Wow...when I was first bitten it itched like crazy, too...you just don't hear much about the itching. But it sounds more common than I thought. I thought I had mosquito bites...unfortunately not. I was actually bitten twice and both times it itched like crazy. Those docs just don't know enough. It's sad.
