Has anyone experienced itchy skin without a rash after being on an antibiotic for a long time?

I have been on Bactrim and Cedax for the past 6 months I was fine until now. My skin gets itchy everyday no matter how much lotion I put on. I was wondering if maybe my body was now developing an allergic reaction to it.

It's best to check with your doctor. Itchy skin can be a sign of liver problems, which can be brought on by extended antibiotic use.

I called my doctor he said it could be the Bactrim after taking it for so long.
He also said my Liver function blood work came back normal he just took it a week ago.

Some antibiotics do have potential skin complications. I didn't know they would occur after taking them for so long.

Could also be Candida growth on the skin...are you taking anti-fungal herbs or medication? Are you taking probiotics? A yogurt or cultured buttermilk bath may help...

I get itchy skin sometimes, but I'm not on antibiotics. I feel like it's a Lyme symptom, though.

I take four probiotics two hours after my antibiotics everyday.

My skin was driving me crazy too. Don't take really hot showers and maybe use a baby soap. And maybe try not to take a shower everyday. And drink more water. no coffee.
Some supplements can do that too. And I take so many that I don't know which one was causing it.

i've had itching on bactrim--CRAZY PIN-PRICKING burning itching that drove me crazy it was like a phase after i'd been on the bactrim for awhile.... i can't take benedryl but claritin has helped and a trick i learned a while ago is to submerse the body part that itches in really hot water for several minutes feels terrible at first but it does relieve the itching for hours afterwards when i don't want to use water i put a hot blow-dryer on my skin and that works too b.
