Some of you may remember me from months ago, along w my symptoms. I went on doxy for @ 6 wks ,when I went off the sx reduced a ton. Never had labs pointing to lyme but was given a clinical possible dx.
Now for 1.5 months I have had upper left ab pains and some centered burning. Turns out my lipase has been elevated which dr said points to mild pancreatitis. I had a ca 19 tumor marker done (had this in the past as my dad died of pc) and it doubled in one month and is dbl normal. Dr said this can rise with general inflammation to the pancreas, not always cancer. I am however, terrified I have PC and its going undetected. I had scans, eus etc-all clear, but know it can be missed.

Now this is a stretch of some sort and hope you can answer-

1 Has anyone had inflammation of the pancreas from doxy

2 Has anyone had inflammation of pancreas from lyme?

In 2000 I had pancreatitis and had to have my gall bladder out. I believe it all was from lyme but no proof.

Thanks for your response, how long did the pancrestitis last for? Mine has been over a month and has been "mild"

How was your CBC? I know some of the coinfections can inflame the pancreas and liver.

My pancreatitis lasted until I turned yellow which was about a week! I finally went to the hospital and found I needed my gallbladder out

What did your pancreatitis feel like? I have had this for 1.5 months...

It began with severe indigestion then I remember it was extremely painful going from the base of my sternum /top of my stomach through to my back. Like a knife. Sometimes it was a strong dull pain. Also I felt a heavyness under by left breast inside my chest / that was the gall bladder full of stones. I ended up in the hospital but they couldn't do the surgery while the pancreus was so inflamed. I had a endoscope waited a few days and had the gallbladder out. I was in the hospital for 8 days the surgery was not laproscopic as they thought it would be. I am not one to run to the doctor and waited it out---big mistake. Are you being treated and watched????I was living alone at the time and one day my son came to visit and said mom you look yellow. I never even noticed.

Not being treated but will have an MRI soon to dbl check that there are no masses. This pain just wont stop. I am terrified its cancer as I just lost my dad to this and its hereditary. I guess time will tell.

In looking at your symptoms, I had many of the same ones and then some. You really need to see another llmd if you still have symptoms other than pancreousl please keep us posted. Try not to fear because our fears can actually create what we fear happen. You are also a product of your mother you know. Blessings to you.
