I get a sore throat often. It always feels like I have something in my throat that I can't swallow. Almost like I'm coming down with a cold but the cold never appears. It never gets worse if that makes sense. I don't know if it has anything to do with lyme. I am still looking for answers.

kendal- Yes I get sore throats...it is a Bart symptom. Make sure you tell Dr. D at your appointment. He always asks me if I have had any sore throats or lymph node swelling..

It is interesting that you brought this up because I haven't really thought of this as a symptom and haven't brought up to my PCP. It is an odd feeling. It is soreness towards the top of my throat like I could swallow it but I can't. It comes and goes. It is usually around when I feel the worst. Extra tired, mouth sores, headaches. I can't say that it has anything to do with lyme as I don't know much about
lyme. It almost feels like I'm coming down with strep throat but I never do. It just goes away after a few days when I start feeling better. It never gets worse than a dull pain and is more of an annoyance than anything else.

Mine gets really sore and can last for weeks. It feels like strep but isn't. My LLMD told me it was a symptom of Bart.

ktp812, do you get tiny white spots on your tonsils?

kendal- no I don't. It just gets really red and sore. I haven't had one in a couple months now but in 2007 I had them almost constantly.

Can also be a sing of chronic Mycoplasma Pneumaoniae so when you see your doctor ask to check for this as well as looking into Bart.....

I just started getting sore throats and Lymph Node sweeling after a round of antibiotics. I had it for 3 months straight. It just started to ease up a little but I'm back on treatment so I'm suspecting it will be back. My doctor also said this was a Bart symptom. I've read this as well.

Debbie,
Something else that comes to mind is thyroid swelling. It can feel like you have something in your throat that can't be swallowed. You may want to get your thyroid checked just to be sure.

I starting getting the sore throats when I started treatment also. It lasted about
10 months and then went away when I started Levaquin ( well after about
4 weeks). I have them off and on mostly when I switch up abx.
