Hello! Thanks so much for your thoughtful inquiry about my sister. She is not doing well at all - in fact, terrible. Mentally, she's destroyed - extremely depressed - she is in agonizing pain, and the fatigue and muscle weakness and shakiness in her legs is constant. She basically cannot walk. With the help of an "angel" on this forum, we did get an appointment with a very kind and knowledgeable Dr. in VA. We spent 3 days there in mid-June -- a detailed consultation was done on day 1 - days 2 and 3 were devoted to many, many tests and other medical evaluations. At this point, we don't have any test results back, so we are kind of in a "holding" pattern. She's off all antibiotics - she is taking a few herbal/vitamin supplements for this interim period. Our follow-up appointment to receive the test results and hopefully an official treatment plan is set for early August. I, along with my entire family, have asked God to let this physician be the vessel to helping us find "the answer". I realize this is a monumental amount of pressure to place on the shoulders of anyone, but if we don't find an answer - well, I don't know where we will go from here. We are all at our breaking point - financially, emotionally and physically. We realize we are not alone in this struggle for survival - all those stuck by this horrible disease seem to be dealing with the very same issues! It breaks my heart.
I haven't posted in several weeks, alot going on in my personal life - we've been out of town and getting ready to leave again. I've been traveling back and forth checking on Chris and taking care of a few things on the "home front", then leaving again. I apologize for not responding sooner to your kind message, but just returned home this evening. Leaving again on Wednesday, after I get a few things accomplished here.
I sincerely hope this finds you well and on the road to recovery. My prayers are with you and all those suffering from this disease. Please take care.
Blessings and prayers,
Shadowmom
