ok, for a few days my left ankle area had a very minor "oh that sorta hurt...." no big deal.... then Last night, within 1 hour my foot was hurting so bad that if a breeze blew on it it felt like it was being burned in a firey blaze. I couldn't move it. or touch it, nothing. the next day it has swollen up like a balloon, is nice and red, and even slighty warm. Could this be a lyme side effect or something a bit more sinister? Can lyme bring on other disorders?

Oh yeah I know exactly what you are saying about
the burning fiery blaze. For me this is a Lyme symptom. The burning will last sometimes a whole day, but I do have some relief when I can squeeze or rub it really hard. This may sound weird but I feel like a dog who is chewing its leg off to free itself.
Hope this helps

is it possible that it is gout? it fits all of the symptoms, I am over 40 and my dad has it for the last 20 years...... But then its either a coincindence or lyme has brought it on, so is that possible?

I really wish I could answer the question of gout. But I never had problems with my feet burning, itching, stabbing sharp poking like pain until I got Lyme. At one point I had scooted off the bed and landed hard on my right foot, I could barely walk on it for a month. Before I found out I had lyme I was at work one day and the pain in my feet was nothing I had ever felt, I knew then something was not right...It was over a year later before I found out I had Lyme...Could be the Lyme causing the burning pain. Everyone is differnt. But thanks for the heads up on the gout...I will be doing some research to rule that out for me.
Good Luck and Hope you can relieve the sensations of the fiery burning in your feet.

I had a friend that had gout and she explained the pain the same way you did. I remember her saying how it hurt so bad when air hit the area. You should get it checked out by your doctor.

Lyme disease can cause burning pain in some people, but it could also be gout.

thanks guys/girls. this appears to be the month of learning..... lyme and gout for me. I did some reading about
it and stumbled on this page: http://naturalcurereviews.com/remedy44-1-gout.html I read every home remedy for gout and there seems to be a recurring theme in the ones that got good votes. Needless to say I went to the store and bought all that crap. For mw though, my dad hasn't a clue and I am off to give me all the info so he can get through his issues faster. Hope this helps anyone who knows anyone with gout as well. thanks
