This information is being shared for you to extend a personal invitation to your local or primary care physicians and/or specialists~
"ILADS 2009 ninth annual conference is scheduled for October 24-25, 2009 at the Gaylord National resort just outside Washington, D.C. Several hundred medical professionals representing a myriad of specialty areas are expected to attend. The conference is intended to foster dialogue and collaboration among researchers and medical professionals who work with Lyme disease patients in various settings. The program will focus on providing updates in clinical understanding and treatment techniques."
This is a unique opportunity b/c it is frequently held in California.
MD Physicians must meet a specific number of CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits each year. This conference is an accredited CME opportunity. Each doctor that registers and attends will receive 10CME Category 1 credits. This information is important to include in your invitation. "This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) through the joint sponsorship of the WAM and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. The WAM is accredited by the MSSNY to provide continuing Medical Education for physicians. This educational activity is designated for the AMA/PRA Category 1 Credits."
A great way to invite your local physicians would be to print off as much information from the link below and hand deliver the invitation directly into your doctor's hands. Include a cover letter with some of the information from this thread if you'd like.
Be sure to include the link I've provided below:

This is our grass roots opportunity to be vessels of the education and science available to equip our doctors across the U.S. and internationally.
