I have been seeing a doctor in Plattsburgh (near the Canada border). She is great but I need a worker's comp doctor so they will keep paying me . I found out that Worker's Comp will pay transportation -- which is good since I am about
6 hours from Albany and 4 from Syracuse. Any suggestions?

I've been looking for the last 20 minutes through google, but I need something more specific than northern NY. Can you tell me some cities that are near you? I tried typing upstate as well as northern and pretty much come up blank except for activists and patients.

Thanks for your help.
I think the problem is that I don't live near any major city. I am in Potsdam, NY
The closest medical facility of any significance is in Burlington, Vermont which is about
four-hours from me --
but they don't seem to have anyone there that is Lyme literate.
My doctor in Plattsburg, NY serves most of my needs yet there are requirements I need to satisfy Worker's Comp that she cannot do for me.

woodswalker, you can email me for NY doctor names. You may need to travel somewhat.

Well, the rhuematology clinic at Upstate is probably your best bet in that area-of cource you just said you are four hours from there so its a trip. I grew up in northern Oswego County and have to say that a 4 hour trip to a good doc up there is probably standard.
I would hook in with Upstate, and have a local physician handle your day to day stuff and consult with the clinic for you.

I should keep a diary of this search -- it's ridiculous! Today I searched the University hospital in Syracuse. I really don't know why since I was told by Worker's Comp that thehave no Lyme literate docs or even infectious disease docs there. I looked anyway. Found 5 docs that looked promising. 2 once took worker's comp but now longer do. One had an idiot for a receptionist and I about
lost my cool. The person that answered the phone for the Infectious disease department had never heard of Lyme disease. She at least took my info so someone can get back to me tomorrow. Yeah, believe it -- I can't make this stuff up.

Thank God you don't live here in the South. So say, "There is no Lyme Disease here!" Wooooo! Wouldn't that be cool?
