H1N1 vaccine this fall anyone?

just curious if anyone is getting the "swine flu" vaccine this fall.. I see where they are testing it on 240 healthy people now. Since most of our immune systems are down, how will this work on us? i work in a highly contagious environment. I know that when people are sick like us, its easier for us to catch another bug, and if its a bug like the h1n1 strain, it could be fatal.

I just can't justify putting anything more into my body.... like a flu vaccine, swine flu vaccine, pnuemonia vaccine, etc. I just don't want to add anything to my body (my body is a cess pool - haha!)

I also would love to have botox and a few other 'vain' beauty procedures done, but now there's no way I'm shooting botulism between my eyes!

Just my 2 cents.

I am truly concerned about getting this. I take the flu shot every year because of my immune system. I know nothing about this new flu though and it's scary to hear of people dying from it. I'll be scared to take the vaccine since it's so new.

I would NOT get this. The way I have become so sensitive to foreign things in my body, I would probably end up worse than I am now. Why add to the already toxic burden. I will leave "almost" well-enough alone.

Hi, just visiting from UC. Because I am definitely immunocompromised from the meds I take, I will get it when it's available. Otherwise, I might skip it. I always get the flu shot, but this new one... I'm old enough to remember the old swine flu that came thru in the 70's. They quickly developed a vaccine which protected a lot of people, me included; it also made a number of people very sick.

It's always a tough decision, I think, with new drugs and treatments.

I would be nervous to get it. Look at what happened with the Lyme vaccine. They ended up pulling it and people got sick from it. I also heard the swine vaccine in the 70's ended up causing neurological issues in some that had it. I don't need anymore of those!

Hey All,

This is always a very personal decision but I do know the 2 times I did not get the flu shot I became very ill with the flu. It may have been just a fluke

Working with children in the school system, I will get the vaccine.

I don't know how this vaccine will be, but the new vaccines are made with a dead virus so you don't get the illness but you can build a resistance to it. Like Kitt, I always get a flu shot and I've never gotten sick from it.

Oh, I also have gotten the pneumonia vaccine. I need one more and that's all I'll need to protect me.

I won't be one to try it out. I am sorry but I personally don't trust them. They still put Mercury(Thimersol) in adult vaccines. My body doesn't need anymore junk in it. Since I have had Lyme and been on antibiotics I seem to not get sick, it's weird.

I was also told by an LLMD not to vaccinate our baby since there is a chance she could have gotten Lyme from me and we don't want to mess with her immune system. Her Pediatrician agreed with us.

It's a very personal decision that hopefully stays that way.

No, I will not be taking this vaccine. I don't trust any vaccines. Plus they have mercury in them. My LLMD says no to vaccines.
