so today is the last day of ABX. i got a refill for zithro and rifampin though.. but i'm going to quit and continue to take supplements and see how it goes.. i need to give my body a break i think.. i still have symptoms, but i think they are controllable.

btw.. yesterday at work a mom and a son came in and bought some school clothes, i helped them out, she said her son has been sick for 10 years and is going blind.. they can't seem to figure it out, they are in medical ruins because of it.. no money now.. i asked about his symptoms, she told me he had everything from bells palsy, to aches and skin problem, to dizziness, fatigue, lethargic, and has even had ticks on him before with rashes.. She said she has spent over 100k in medical bills over the 10 years and her credit is shot. I asked about a lyme test, and she said he had one a few years ago but it was negative... I told her to go to igenex and print off a copy of the tests and have his doctor draw blood and sign off on the papers.. She was very happy with the conversation we had.. i really think he has lyme, he has been tested for everything. all normal... uhmm.. i hope he does ok...

Isn't it amazing and a shame that we Lymies can help and diagnose ourselves and others when doctors can't.
Poor little fellow, breaks my heart to think what he's been going through not to mention his parents.

Your chance meeting just might be her luckiest day in 10 years. Good for you James.

I agree with mcjane - you meeting his mom is a blessing in diguise. Hopefully, the mom can find out the truth and help her son.

You know you are SO brave to mention this disease. I'm a coward for the most part as I get laughed at and I will never forget a doctor visit I had where they sat me down in a chair and accused me of basically being crazy. (No accusation is necessary...I am)

Anyways, good luck and keep spreading the word of the possibility of a disease that needs to ruled out ( or in ).

Way to stand up and talk to her about lyme!! good luck stopping ABX. I hope you are able to controll your symptoms with supplements. I have stopped my meds too. Its been about a month now.

i stopped my meds too btw and I think i'm holding pretty steady. experimenting off is important as I couldn't keep up the dosage that LLMDs require. I really wish they'd come up with a test besides how we are feeling for just added assurance.

this might sound bad, but i really need a beer!! i haven't had a beer since april.. and i know being on ABX you cannot drink.. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before i drink a beer.. jeez!! i really miss having a beer here and there after a long day of work..

I hear ya!! I have felt that way lots of times. I have to say I have broken down and had a drink. There is only so much you can give up at one time.

James, good luck w/ dealing w/ this Monster in your own way -- at least for trying! There is a reason for everything...... Even if we don't like the reason. I think you learned one of them yesterday.  You just may have saved a youngster's life.  Nothing much more important than that, huh?

I don't know anything about your previous drinking habits, but I say, Go ahead and have just a few. You've been at all this so hard. One evening of that enjoyment is not going to ruin everything. Just don't make it a 'habit'.

this is what my mom is telling me cajungrl. I just want to help people, if its helping someone that is sick, or someone that is in trouble.. i just want to help anyone in need.. Knowledge is power, and if i have that power i have to use it. i'm not looking to be rewarded for anything.. but i can help.. the son had alot of seizures i guess also.. he would complain about his feet hurting on and off.. and he would have a good week and think he is ok, then he would be sick again for a month..


btw.. i can't seem to figure out why my body temp is always 97f. it will not reach the normal level..

+lyme, i drank one beer in april and then had a few beers on new years eve last year.. that has been it..i don't really drink very much.. i'm pretty much on call with my job 24/7.. so if i want a beer tomorrow night, i should be ok?

James, please see my post just above your last one. I want to add that my body temp is the same as yours, except when I'm running one of those fevers. My thyroid is low enough to diagnose hypothyroidism but I've just finished 3 months of scripts and feel no better, plus my temp has not come up to normal.

It is common for Lyme to attack the thyroid. And there's a lot of possibilites for your low temp. So far I am not happy at all w/ the treatment OR diagnosis of my thryoid problem. Has your Dr tested your thyroid?

+lyme, i don't really know if he actually did a thryoid test or not.. i think he did, because it runs in the family.. lemme look at my paperwork..

I agree that it may be your thyroid. I have hypothyroidism and always have very low body temperature when my thyroid is off. My temp is around 97 too when it's off. You may want to have it checked out.

I am so glad that that boys mother found you. You may have saved his life. Wow! That is exciting to think about.

I seriously don't think one beer will hurt you. In fact, if I wouldn't be on pain pills, I probably would have drank some wine the other night.

yeah, no papers on thyroid.. i might go ahead and have that tested soon.. i'm going to stay off the ABX as long as i can and try to re-build my immune up and go in to have another CBC done... hopefully within the next month.. i'm hoping my wbc count has gone up from 3.0.. it could've been lower since that was when i just started abx..

i know if the mother has any questions, she knows where to reach me.. me and the mom was talking for a good 10 minutes about the disease, and the son overheard me talking, and he became really interested when he over heard me. when they left, i felt really good even though all of my employees around me prolly thought i was crazy...

Can you still talk to the mom with the sick boy?
Tell her to get him to envita...if he is old enough.
and also to run over to whole foods or a better place and get her kid on colloidal silver.
And you too should get on it along with a ton of supplements....asap
