I just started the condenced Cowden protocol.....

 Hey everyone! It's been a while since I posted last. I just thought I would pop in and let you all know how i'm doing. I'm still doing much better but  still having some symptoms. I just started the cowden protocol last monday. Hopefully this will get me back to 100%. I'm still seeing Dr. D. in GA. He uses homeopathic meds. and herbs to treat LD. He is wonderful. I have come a long way since i've been seeing him.

If abx. are not working for you then I would recomend an herbal protocol. It was the best thing for me.

I found a tick on me the other night. I was horrified! I started popping herbs like crazy!

Also , I was in a car wreck on 8/8/09. The driver was DUI big time. He came into my lane head on, thankfully I was able to swerve into the other lane because there weren't any cars there at the time. He still trashed the entire passenger side of my car. I was very lucky though, he could have killed me or someone else.

That did not help things with me at all. It was a big stressor for me. I am having pain from the wreck , neck, head and lower back, eye twitching etc.....

Anyway, that's about it for now.....

I would love to hear from my old lyme friends, are any of you still around?

Are you using the condensed Cowden protocol or the longer one? How is it going so far. I am afraid I am relapsing after 3 yrs of treatment or else I got reinfected...I did do Dr. Zhangs protocol and may try that again. I am really feeling bad-severe headache, panicky, nerves on edge, face/mouth/tooth pain...I think its my Babesia-must have been reinfected-starting back on Artemisinin today and biaxin. See if that will help.

I am sorry about your accident but glad it was not worse. That sounds terrifying.
I have been doing only herbs since March. I take 10 HH-2 capsules a day for bartonella and am currently herxing. I take 1500 mg TOA free Cat's Claw in capsule form rather than the samento because I like to be able to measure exactly what is working. I use that for lyme as well as 1000 mg grapefruit seed extract. These are divided into 4 doses. I think my lyme is about gone, knock on wood. I also take hyaluronic acid for my dry eyes, quercitin for inflammation, B complex, magnesium and a few other supplements if I feel I can swallow that many pills. In Schaller's book he says you need to take the herbs in very high doses and the amount recommended is very low. I also believe taking abx for too long can damage your immune system so it is best to use them to get the disease under control and then use herbs.

I was thinking of starting the condensed Cowden soon-glad to hear its working for you. I did take Dr. Z's for about 6 months but then went back on Doxy due to the fact that I woke that morning with a bite and then found a tick crawling in my bed! So really since last Nov I have been on/off abx. I think in June of this year I may have also gotten a new bite so I went back on abxs but am at the point of just staying with the herbs cause I know I feel much better on them. I should be getting my new stash of Dr. Z's herbs today or tomorrow-I also restarted artemisinin cause I do think that helps and today on day 5 I am herxing slightly so I know its working. I will need to add the others as you mention-I will try anything just to feel better and am tired of the abx's. Godd luck healing from that awful accident. You will feel better in no time. Konawind
