Doxy dosage debate for "early" LD

I'm looking to hear people's experiences with doxy dosage for so-called "early detection" - not sure of the range of this, maybe 1 week - 6 months after exposure? I got my positive test 10 days ago, was exposed two months+ ago, have symptoms, and I'm trying to get my dosage increased right away up to ILADS standards. It could be months before I get in to see a LLMD, so I think my best bet is to work my NLLMD in the meantime.

I'm wondering about the experiences of others who caught it early; your length of time between exposure and beginning treatment, your dosage and length of treatment - and of course, your results so far.; especially any effects from 400 mg doxy/day for 30 days - my Doc seems most concerned about this. Thanks to this site already or I wouldn't have even known to ask about this. Your story might help me persuade a Dr. to help me. Thank you.

Hi Lifedancer,

Here is my story: got bitten by tick and developped an EM (bulls'eye). Went to see an LLMD 3 days later in a walk-in clinic, I was lucky to find a specialist right away as Lyme disease is common in the North East. He prescribed me 100mg of Doxy twice a day and 300mg of Cefdinir twice a day. All this for 30 days. I didn't develop any symptoms except that I've been completely exhausted the last 30 days and I am almost finished with this treatment.

I called the Dr again and he said that he doesn't think that I need to go over the 30 days but I might try to get another script for just maybe 300 mg of Doxy/day for another 15-21 days.
