How do I detox with a picc line?

I am having a picc line put in in about 5 weeks. I want to continue detoxing because I think it's important, but was told I cannot use my portable sauna because of risks of infection from sweating. Well, I sweat in my tub too when I detox. What am I supposed to do now? I think the foot detoxes work but I am too sick to get out and have that done.

Any suggestions?

Thanks! I knew you would answer my post. That foot detox that a friend of mine has really works. I can feel the yuckiness coming out of my feet. She has one with frequency machine attached. Maybe I can get her to come here. If not, I will try the regular foot detox.

IV Glutathione is good for detoxing, and would be easy to do with a PICC.

I don't think IV glutathione is available without a prescription. But the precursors are supplements that can be purchased online or in a health food store. I think N-Acetyl-Cystein (NAC) is one of them, Alpha-Lipoic Acid may be another (going from memory here...).

Also there are herbs that help to support the liver, kidneys and bowels that could aid with toxin removal.

Milk Thistle is excellent for the liver. Dandelion root is good for both liver and kidneys. Fresh squeezed lemon juice with a little olive oil (I don't remember the exact recipe -- some use apple cider vinegar instead) is good for flushing toxins out through the gallbladder (via bile) -- if you don't have gallbladder disease/gallstones.

Fiber supplements, such as flaxseed meal, pectin, psyllium husk, etc., can help bind toxins to help eliminate them from the body. Charcoal tablets absorb toxins as well (sometimes given to people who overdose on chemicals or medications). There are also edible clay supplements that do similar things to the charcoal tablets.

Coffee enemas also are good for detox.

Mucilagenous herbs (such as Slippery Elm, Marshmallow Root, Licorice Root, etc.) help protect the mucosal barrier in the gastrointestinal tract, thus reducing leaky gut issues and preventing autointoxication (re-absorption of toxins).

Digestive enzymes can improve digestion and break down toxin accumulations in the gut, making the digestive system more efficient and effective as a means of toxin elimination. Probiotics (Acidophilus, S. Boulardii, soil-based organisms) also help clean up the gut.

Drinking plenty of non-sugary liquids is very, very important as well - especially if using fiber supplements, charcoal, and/or clay supplements to pull toxins out through the bowels.

Dairy and gluten grains (wheat/rye/barley) are known to hang around a long time in the gut (approx. 6 weeks) and longer in the brain (up to a year). In those who have difficulty processing the proteins from dairy and gluten grains, these proteins can block detoxification and cause a lot of other problems. Also, gluten and dairy proteins are known to promote inflammation in the body. Inflammation increases the toxic burden that the body's immune system has to deal with. So some find they need to avoid dairy and gluten grains to achieve the healing they are seeking.

Thanks! I thought I would be able to administer it into my picc line. That would be great if I could find something like that. I already have all of those supplements so I'd be wasting money purchasing it.

I thought I had everything but I am actually missing a few things like Milk Thistle. I will ask my doctor about the infusions. If I can't get that, I may give the supplements a try.

 i, CajunGirl,     I have a picc line, and I also have a portable far infrared  (FIR) sauna that has arm openings.  I just hang my picc arm out of the hole when using the sauna.    I did ask my LLMD about it, and he said great, use it !

I got mine on eBay.  They generally are listed on there for less than $150.00.  (One is on there today, $99.00 plus $18.00 shipping).   Mine is really ugly, it looks like an aluminum foil pup tent.   But it works for me, I guess, coz I sweat like a pig.  They usually come in L and XL size.  I got XL (because I AM XL) and it's not especially huge.  I'd hate to see the L.

Oh, the folding chair that came with mine is a CHILD's size chair.....I had to swap that out for a regular adult sized folding chair.

The instructions are obviously translated from a non-English original instruction sheet, and are a little hilarious.    

If you do get one, post back and I'll tell you how to use the control buttons (hard to figure out, the buttons don't necessarily make any sense, there's some mystery that has to be solved before you get the heat and length of time that you want).
