I was bitten October 2008, diagnosed in January 2009 (via CD-57 - level 16), put on IV Rocephin February 2009 (still on it), diagnosed with ehrlichia in April 2009, on doxy 400mg daily (still on it). 

I've been doing pretty well until September and, while the neuro symptoms have greatly improved and have remained as such, my physical symptoms are worsening - swollen ankles, painful joints (especially in hands and feet) - restless legs, insominia (two new symptoms I've never had), intermittent fevers (last night went from 97.7 to 100.4 and back to 98.7 within 2 hours time).  The cooler the weather, the worse I feel...and it's not even winter yet (I live in Maryland).  Anyone else?

Lots of people have symptoms that ebb and flow with a drop in barametric pressure -- not just Lyme but folks who have arthritis, sinus conditions, allergies, etc. Some folks swear by the hot southwest heat and even move there.

I do have those issues as well - can't do heat or cold!! Summertime heat causes heat exhaustion in a heartbeat with me, and just to add to the fun - the cold damp of winter really gets to my joints - all of them.

My doc has dxed me with Lyme Arthritis, although I don't know if there is even such a thing. I have NO arthritis markers in my blood, but have the joy of disfigurement of fingers & toes & arthritis-type pain.

In an attempt to keep my # of 'scripts down, I have found that Naproxen helps for me.

As for your temps - I do the same thing. It's pretty much a daily routine now! My 'normal temp. is 97.4 & my fevers usually are around 99.8 to 100.9
I recently had an afternoon without a fever, and I thought I was going to freeze!!! My secret weapon for days when I don't run a fever - hot tea!!!!!

I do hope others with the same experiences will answer as well!!!!

Thank you all for your responses and I will talk to my LLMD about the Naproxen. Traveler, does it bother your tummy (ibuprofen and I do not get along in that department and I don't know how similar they are).

And a new pain today - my right big toe - it almost feels like what people describe as gout. I can hardly walk. So I just left a message with doc to see about the naproxen (anything OTC with that?)

My llmd said that lyme can be seasonal.  I think he is probably right. However, the rheumy said arthritis can also be seasonal.   I have bad arthritis in both knees along with baker's cysts.  The right knee is constantly swollen and inflammed.  The llmd says I have lyme, the rheumotolgist doesn't have an explanation other than it being due to an old injury. 

Here is what I know.............the summers here in New England make my knees feel better ( less pain).

The winters are horrendous!!!!!!!!  I felt so awful on meds that I took myself off.  I would rather just deal with the pain in the knees and not feel sick anywhere else. Do I have lyme................maybe.............and then again maybe not.    All I know is I feel so much better this year off meds than I did last year on meds.  Actually, I should clarify.  The doc thought/thinks I have bart. 

Any comments?

Forgot to add that yes, I was bitten.  Yes, I see deer in my backyard all the time, yes, our cats (despite frontline) keep bringing ticks into the house.  And a very big yes, found a deer tick in our bed (probably left by one of the cats) again, despite use of frontline.

Frontline does not repell ticks. It only kills them if they bite the animal. I think advantage repells them.

Yes, you can use Advantage on cats but it looks like it's just for fleas. I could have sworn I saw a commercial about Advantage keeping ticks off. I can't find anything on the Internet though.

when i need to use anything on my dogs or cat i use bio-spot. it repells both fleas and ticks plus mosquitoes. and you do not have to go to a vet to get it. most any pet store should have it.

and remeber anytime you use something new always do a test spot first. and i never place it at the base of the tail, just between the shoulder blades. so they can not lick it at all.

i have used it now for over 10 yrs without any trouble at all.
