I am shaking vibrating....and comments please?

Hello, I am new here. I was diagnosed last Thursday with Lyme and was put on Doxy 400mg per day. Now I feel like my body is shaking, kinda vibrating all of the time...Has anyone else experienced this? I also have a burning and tingling in my head that is never ending. I can't sleep or nap and I am so tired. Also I was put on a multitude of supplements and I beleive the Resvertrol increased my heart rate to 130. Has anyone else experieced this one? Thanks so much for any comments and advice you may have...This has been such a weird road so far and I have fought a big battle to get dianosed, guess I have to keep fighting to get well too!!!

Welcome to the forum! Yes, yes and yes to your question. I have had all of your symptoms except the burning in the head. Especially the vibrating and fast heartbeats. I'm not sure about the Resvertrol, but others here have taken it and I'm sure they can help. I take a small piece of Klonopin when my heartrate gets that fast. It may also help you sleep as well.

Have you ever had your thyroid checked? Hyperthyroidism and Hashimotos can cause a fast heartbeat.

Thank you!!! It helps when you know your not alone. When you felt the vibrating did it last 24/7? It is so annoying...lol I take a 1mg ativan to sleep and that gives me about 4 hours.
I had my thyroid checked and rechecked and they say it's fine. Through my fight for a diagnosis I have had everything checked...8 docors in 2 months...uggg.

The vibrating so far, has not been 24/7 but long enough. It's very annoying. Sometimes I look at my phone to see if it's ringing because I keep it on vibrate. It's not my phone, it's me! lol

Klonopin has a longer lasting half life. It usually lasts for about 12 hours. I sleep like a baby when I take it. I don't take it every night though. Just when needed.

I also used to have whole body tremors. That used to freak me out. I'm so glad they're gone.

Do you know the "rules" on Doxy? Sitting up for two hours after you take it, etc?

Maybe I will ask my doc for some Klonipin to help me sleep. With the Doxy I thought you only had to sit up for 30 minutes. Then 2 hours later I take the probiotic. No Calcuim...Not sure of any other rules.

It's just one hour that you have to sit upright. I'm not sure why I thought it was two. You are correct by taking your probiotics two hours later. And don't go in the sun! You could get a really severe sunburn. Here is more information on Doxy. Great site!

My Lyme doc mentioned to me at one time that Lyme doesn't like to be fought, and sometimes can rear it's ugly head when antibiotics come a knockin (i.e., the aforementioned "Herxed"). Not sure if that is what is going on in your case. But stick with it. Doxy was very tolerable for me. I actually initially had to take it as "anti-malaria" meds when I went to Africa--wasn't about to use Mephloquin (sp?). Heard that was nasty stuff that gave you horrible and vivid nightmares--not what I needed going into a high threat environment. But you definitely have to be careful about your exposure to the sun with Doxy. I was lathered with SPF50, and I typically don't burn easily, and I still got sunburned.

about the tingling in the head, I get that, followed by severe muscle jerks and spasms. The only thing that helps in my case is Carbidopa/Levodopa (Sinemet) which is a Parkinson's medication. Seven years ago when I used to have this, they tried muscle relaxers etc, nothing helped except the thing they least expected. I haven't had that for 7 years now, until I got bit 4 times in July and got very sick.

I tried boosting my dopamine with magnesium instead but it just doesn't metabolize for me in the way that the medication does. But I do get that tingling you talk about, right before it happens. Is your tingling at the top of your neck in the back, base of skull? Thats where mine is.

By the way I'm not on abx at the moment so it's not related to any medications.
