I've been having serious neuro issues,  (similar to Parkinsons) have any of you been able to get help from any neurologists in looking for causes of symptoms including are they willing to do coinfecion blood tests?  I would think they might,  considering they do lumbar punctures to check for stuff, etc.

Also I've been having nausea again and feeling of being intoxicated--I haven't had an alcoholic beverage in months and rarely would drink before,  but that's the closest way to describe it,  intoxicated.

Beside Lyme,  which other infections can cause this?  Fatigue and headaches too,  by the way.  Thank you for your input.

Hi Strongmom,

I have really bad neuro problems too. I get really bad head jerks and arm/hand jerks and spasms. My LLMD said that it was caused from Bartonella, so you may want to get tested for that. Actually, an LLMD will usually go by symptoms since the test is sometimes inacurate.

Interesting you should say Bartonella,  because I've been suspecting that too.  I've read it sometimes takes different antibiotics than Lyme.  They have found fleas around prarie dog populations in Colorado who have Bartonella,  and we've got lots of prairie dogs around here,  just up the street even.

See if you can get the neurologist to schedule you a SPECT scan of your brain.

The SPECT scan shows how your brain is functioning. A CAT scan only shows a picture of your brain.

Do some research online on SPECT scans and take them with you to your appt. with the Neuro doctor. They may not be familiar with them.
Also, not all hospitals and testing places can do them. You just lie there while a camera like device moves around your head. A SPECT scan is painless and you are not in a confined space.

My SPECT scan results made all my doctors pay much more attention to my Lyme symptoms and complaints especially those in my head.

Hey Strongmom,

I have the headaches too. In fact, they can get pretty bad to where I have to lay in the dark and not move. Bartonella causes that too.

Are you seeing an LLMD right now? Forgive me for not remembering. This brain fog is awful!

P.S.- Im wondering if the intoxicating feeling is not from what you're eating? I have Leaky Gut, and sometimes when I eat too much bread or drink milk, I get overly sleepy like I've just taken sleeping pills.
