Western Blot results- Please help

These are the results I got back in June. I have been on Doxy ever since.  Now the doctor is saying I might NOT have lyme. How do I know?

P41Mab(abnormal) present

IgMP41B Ab(abnormal) Present

P39Mab(abnormal)Present

Lyme Igm Wb (Abnormal) Positive

Any insight is appreciated.

Mom,

I am not a Dr or an LLMD. I cannot maintain that I am 100% right. (nor can the Drs!)

However, I did as much research as I could find on the WB, trying to figure stuff out.

I don't know what the P41 is.

A positive reaction on band 41 indicates infection by spirochetes.

Band 39 is species specific for Bb. Meaning, no other infection causes a positive reaction on band 39. This means you have antibodies specific to Bb.

ALL of the info I have found says that positive band 39 means you do have lyme.

The fact that you have this band, added to 2 41s, IMO, as well as the Lyme specialists, indicates you have lyme disease.

I don't believe there is debate over lyme infection on a WB like yours. I believe the debate between LLMDs and the rest of the medical community is whether or not presence of Lyme antibodies indicates an ACTIVE infection.

Your lab even interpreted your test as positive. I do not understand how your Dr reached his/her conclusion? Your test indicates Lyme.

I don't see any IgG results here. Does anyone here have any insight on this for Mom?

I'd like to know why your doc changed his mind. Mine told me I was positive in 41 and 31 then 39 was indeterminate. According to her, and she is working with a LLD for me, I'm positive. If your doc gives you an explanation I'd like to hear it since our bands showing positive are so close. Is your doc a LLD? I'm also on doxcy and biaxin. She told me most likely I'll be on them 6 months or more depending on how I respond. I go in later this month for another blood test to see how things are going. Will post when I know the results. I'm anxious to know! Good luck!
