So I went to see my GP this morning after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment to see a specific doctor and surprise, he wasn't there and the partnership that currently exists at the surgery is being split up so he's leaving, ah well, when you find a decent doc they dont stay long
So I went in to see my latest GP to ask for testing for Lyme, armed with information on symptoms and how to test (Lyme isn't very common over here in the UK if you listen to the NHS), all the research I've done told me that they would offer me the Alisa test which I was expecting to be the answer and I was armed with option 2 which was the name of a LLMD so I could get a referral for a Western Blot privately (thanks for the info Mik).
So I sat down and went into the whole thing, during which time he sat looking at his pc monitor, when I finished, and after a pregnant pause for good luck he asked if I had been abroad when I got my tick bites, to which I answered no, and I got the reply "Well, thats ok then, you cant have Lyme"
What followed was basically 10 minutes of yes you can, no you cant pantomime type conversation and him stating that he wont order the test without consulting my consultant (who so far has told me I "may have" suffered a brain stem stroke, have MS, have Raynaud's, circulation issues or may just be making it all up in my head and causing myself a lot of anxiety, and its normal for people with Diabetes to feel bad all the time with different symptoms that come and go and make it impossible to function properly), hm, I await the answer with baited breath, looks like me and my new doc are going to get on really well
