Hi all – I received my FIR sauna yesterday and used it for the first time last night. I have to tell you, I felt WONDERFUL when I got out of there; reminded me of when I was a teenager and spent the day at the beach in the sun. This morning, I am sooooo achey, even moreso than usual. Is it normal to herx about 12 hours after the sauna? I’m even on narcotic pain killers and they are not helping!

The idea of sauna is to release toxins from the body. I doubt it is a herx but your body IS releasing toxins and that is a good thing. I did sauna daily for over a year at a clinic and they always tell patients "you will feel worse before you feel better" due to the fact that the toxins need to come out and it isnt always pleasant. Think of it as heaing if you can. :)

Humm, that is interesting. does everyone feel that way after sauna? isn't it supposed to be in FRA red sauna that doesn't make you herx ? or is it not really a herx? do you think you would have felt same if it was a regular sauna?

I love the steam box style sauna that has the ozone blasted in after you start sweating. I stay in for about 15 minutes as part of my treatment. I think the ozone is helping.
