Hi All,
Not well, but better...especially the cognitive issues. I have had lyme for near 7 years, only had treatment for about a year, but I have seen improvement.
For those of you who have been in treatment for a while but still feel horrible or no better, have you been tested for adrenal insufficiency?
I started lyme treatment and at first I saw improvement in the cognitive symptoms, but the muscle aches, debilitating fatigue, joint pain and many other symptoms did not seem to improve at all. Later I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease (severe adrenal insufficiency) and when I finally received the proper treatment for the adrenal failure the symptoms improved drasticaly!
Many of the symptoms of adrenal insufficiency are similar to lyme disease, although much of the medical literature only has a few symptoms listed.
Here are the symptoms I experience for Addison Disease:
Pulse is faster, muscles aches, fatigue, back hurts (where my adrenals are), headache (from blood sugar dropping), irritable, nausea, joints hurt all over my body, shaky, diarrhea, limbs feel like lead, can't think straight, depressed, crying, vomit, no energy to move if I wanted to, Hurt so bad I feel like a bus ran me over and no amount of pain meds makes any difference!
Just a thought for those who are in pain and aren't seeming to get better...hang in there!!
