Worried my bartonella is coming back

So about three weeks ago, my doctor took me off my bartonella antibiotics because he thought I'd got rid of bartonella. But I've been feeling really crappy since then, and I'm worried that it's my bartonella coming back, and not a herx.

I did switch off of Ceftin and onto Zithromax, but my LLMD didn't think I'd have too big of a die-off from that, since I recently started Flagyl and didn't have too much of a herx there either.

Anyway, since then my tendon, joint and muscle pain has gotten worse, some of the burning and tingling I had has come back, and I think some of my brain fog is coming back. I'm forgetting words, and getting things mixed up.

But, I have been trying to exercise more than I have before, which could be another reason why everything is hurting again? I don't think anyone here can tell me if it is just Lyme or if it is bartonella coming back, and I don't even know if my doctor can, but I just wanted to share it with your guys, because it's kind of freaking me out. I feel like I've just got my brain back, and I really don't want to lose it again, but I really don't know what is what. Some of it could even be yeast, not Lyme at all. I just wish there were some way to know, so I could know what to do about it.

Should I just leave things be and see if they keep getting worse? When I first started treatment, I'd have die-off reactions that lasted 6 weeks...So should I just wait and see if I keep going down hill?

I was really hoping that since my brain was doing better, the rest of me would be too. But my joints and tendons feel exactly the same as they did before I started treatment, which is a bit depressing.

Also- sorry I haven't been as active here as in the past. My life got busy (which is good, because 6 months ago I couldn't have handled busy). So I feel a bit selfish about just popping on occasionally unless something is wrong with me. I'll try to be better

Hey Nicky,

It is always great to hear that someone on the board is busy and cannot post as much. That means that they are feeling a little better:) Dont ever feel bad for not posting. This forum is for support and to help you in your time of need.

A change of antibiotics could have caused the pain and discomfort you are experiencing. Try a few detox baths and see if it helps. In my opinion, it is probably the medication change.

Are you still seeing dr. F...????  I just started on Zith, 250 mg a day...  I am feeling pretty good, but I am also taking cholestyrme to detox....

From what you discribing, the Zith is hitting the bart and lyme, and your in herx... just my opinion..

Hi Joanne,

I was never seeing Dr F. I see a Dr in Seattle. I think you got me mixed up with someone else.

And thanks CG too. I was hoping it was just the change of antibiotics. I've started a lot of extra detox stuff, and I'll see if that helps.
